Duška Boban’s project Gardens and Small Harbours of The Blue Highway investigates the presence of nature in Mediterranean cities through the lens of gardens and small sports and recreational harbours from the period of modernism.

Referencing Vuko Bombardelli’s self-initiated urbanistic maritime project Blue Highway, Boban’s two site-specific interventions will connect Spinut Harbour in Split and Luka Harbor in Korčula. These works
should highlight the environmental impact of nautical tourism, particularly the neglected issue of plastic boats imported for charter use. Parallel to this, a photography exhibition will focus on marine flora and this costal spaces shaped by their predominantly local communities.

To extend these ideas, a two-day interdisciplinary program will unfold aboard a 1968 wooden boat. Sailing between Split and Korčula, the floating platform will host talks, performances, and presentations by artists, curators, and researchers working in urbanism, ecofeminism, ecology, and maritime culture—fostering a collective dialogue on urban-nature interdependence.
